I’m Devin Orsi, owner of Iron Bear & Co., a family-owned junk removal, cleanout, and demolition company in Canonsburg. Established 2015 (formerly Richie’s Hauling). Every fall, a lot of business owners look around the office, the shop, or the back room and realize the clutter has been piling up all year: broken chairs, old monitors, empty fixtures, dead inventory, and boxes nobody has opened since they were delivered.

If you run a business in South Fayette and you’d like to start January with room to work, the last stretch of the year is a good time to clear it out. Here’s how to plan a year-end business cleanout, what to handle before the crew arrives, and how our team takes care of the rest. Estimates are no-obligation.

Why a year-end cleanout makes sense

The end of the year is a natural checkpoint. Many businesses take stock of inventory, close out projects, and plan for what’s next. That’s the moment to decide what’s worth keeping. A few reasons to do it now instead of waiting:

What businesses usually clear out

Every business is different, but these are the kinds of items that tend to pile up in offices, shops, and warehouses:

Our commercial junk removal and office cleanout pages cover more of what we haul for businesses.

A simple year-end cleanout plan

1. Walk the space and tag what goes

Walk through with a roll of painter’s tape or colored stickers. Mark what stays, what goes, and what you’re not sure about. Ask the people who use each area. They know what’s broken and what’s still useful.

2. Handle sensitive items first

Old files with customer, employee, or financial information should go through a shredding service before the cleanout. For computers, phones, and anything with a hard drive, have your IT person or provider wipe or remove the drives. Once that’s done, we can haul the hardware.

3. Plan for electronics the right way

Pennsylvania law keeps computers, monitors, and TVs out of regular trash, so they can’t go in the dumpster behind the building. We separate electronics and take them to recycling. Our e-waste removal page explains how that works.

4. Set aside what can be donated or sold

Working office furniture and equipment may be worth donating, selling, or offering to employees. If you want items set aside for donation, tell us when you book and we’ll keep them separate when possible.

5. Pick a time that keeps the business running

Think about when a crew in the building will cause the least disruption. Tell us what works for your schedule and how we get in, and we’ll plan around it.

Junk removal crew or a dumpster?

For a business cleanout, you have two options. If your team has the time and the hands, a dumpster rental lets you load at your own pace. If you’d rather keep your staff working, our crew does the lifting, carrying, and loading, and takes it all away. A lot of year-end cleanouts are a mix of heavy furniture, electronics, and loose debris, and that’s where having a crew handle it saves time. I’m happy to talk through which makes more sense for your space.

How our crew handles a commercial cleanout

We call our service white-glove because that’s how we treat your property. Our crew protects floors and doorways when we carry heavy items out, works around your employees and customers, keeps electronics and recycling separate, and sweeps up before we leave. You’ll get a clear quote up front, and you’ll know what’s being hauled before we start.

Serving South Fayette and nearby

We’re based on South Central Ave in Canonsburg and work throughout South Fayette, Bridgeville, Cecil, Upper St. Clair, Peters Township, and the rest of the South Hills and Washington County. Our junk removal in Bridgeville page covers the area right next door.

Year-end business cleanout FAQ

Do you work with offices, shops, and warehouses?

Yes. We handle offices, retail spaces, warehouses, shops, and other commercial properties, as well as homes.

Can you take old computers and monitors?

Yes. Electronics are kept separate and taken to recycling. Please have the data wiped or the drives removed first.

Will you take filing cabinets with paper still inside?

Empty them first and send confidential papers to a shredding service. We’ll haul the empty cabinets.

How much does a commercial cleanout cost?

It depends on the volume, the type of items, and how easy it is to reach and carry them out. Estimates are no-obligation. Send a few photos or have us walk the space, and we’ll give you a clear quote.
